Trip format
Private or group safari: which fits your trip?
The useful distinction is between what the catalogue explicitly confirms and what still belongs in your written quotation. Only two current packages carry a group classification, and none is explicitly classified as private.
Start with the format the source actually confirms.
P07 is explicitly group-joining. P20 is explicitly a group tour, but its sharing and departure mechanics remain part of the written quotation. The other 24 approved packages are not labelled private or group in the canonical catalogue.
An unclassified package is not evidence of a private safari. If travelling only with your own party matters, state that preference in your enquiry and ask Parrot to confirm the available vehicle, guide, transfer, route and pricing arrangement in writing.
Side-by-side decision guide
Compare preferences without turning them into promises.
- Travelling party
- Qualified decision guidanceConfirmed group options
Consider a confirmed group option when you are comfortable with its published format and with clarifying who may share the departure.
- Qualified decision guidancePrivate-arrangement request
A private-arrangement request is about organising the trip for your own travel party. No displayed package is currently confirmed that way.
- Sharing
- Verified Parrot factConfirmed group options
P07 shares road transport and parts of the daily schedule. P20 is a Group Tour, but its exact sharing mechanics still require confirmation.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Ask whether the vehicle, guide and transfers would be reserved for your party; the current catalogue does not promise this.
- Route structure
- Verified Parrot factConfirmed group options
P07 publishes a defined Nairobi–Mara–Naivasha–Nakuru–Amboseli route. P20 leaves the exact park sequence to the quotation.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Discuss the route you want, then require the final destination sequence and included activities in writing.
- Departure structure
- Confirm in writingConfirmed group options
Confirm dates, meeting point, group composition and whether the departure is operating before booking.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Confirm the start date, pickup, final drop-off and whether the requested arrangement is available.
- Flexibility
- Confirm in writingConfirmed group options
P07 has a shared daily schedule; neither group package promises individual changes to stops or pacing.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Ask what can change for your party. The catalogue does not promise unrestricted route, stop or timing changes.
- Vehicle and guide
- Verified Parrot factConfirmed group options
P07 confirms shared 4×4 Land Cruiser transport and a safari driver-guide. P20 transport and sharing details remain part of the quotation.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Confirm vehicle type, sharing, guide arrangement and transfers. Do not assume an exclusive vehicle from an unclassified package.
- Social experience
- Qualified decision guidanceConfirmed group options
P07 involves travelling with other booked travellers. Whether that feels appealing depends on your comfort with a shared schedule.
- Qualified decision guidancePrivate-arrangement request
If privacy within your own party matters, make it an explicit enquiry requirement and ask how it would be delivered.
- Family or honeymoon
- Confirm in writingConfirmed group options
Confirm rooming, children’s ages, vehicle occupancy, schedule and privacy expectations against the exact group product.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Explain the party’s pace, child needs or privacy expectations, then require rooming, vehicle and transfer arrangements in writing.
- Price confirmation
- Verified Parrot factConfirmed group options
P07 and P20 retain their own canonical price states. Neither source proves that a group option is automatically less expensive.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
No private supplement, discount or per-vehicle rate is published. Use the written quotation and stated charging basis.
- Best next step
- Confirm in writingConfirmed group options
Open the two confirmed group options, then verify their current departure and operating details.
- Confirm in writingPrivate-arrangement request
Use Plan My Safari and select Private or Not sure yet so Parrot can confirm what arrangement is available.
Decision questions
Which preference should lead the enquiry?
These are prompts for the planning conversation, not guaranteed features of a package.
You may want to explore a group option if…
- Are you comfortable with the verified sharing arrangements on P07, or with asking exactly what the Group Tour format means for P20?
- Would you rather begin with one of the two existing group-labelled package records than assume a format for another route?
- Can you confirm the departure, occupancy, route, accommodation and charging basis before committing?
You may want to request a private arrangement if…
- Is travelling only with your own party an important preference rather than an assumed package feature?
- Do you want to ask how much route, stop or pacing flexibility can actually be offered for your dates?
- Can you wait for written confirmation of the vehicle, guide, transfers, accommodation and price basis before treating the arrangement as private?
Current catalogue evidence
Confirmed group options.
Only packages with an explicit canonical group classification appear here. Their titles, durations, routes, prices and images are read directly from the approved catalogue.
Family and honeymoon context
Privacy is a requirement to confirm, not a label to assume.
For a family, confirm children’s ages, rooming, vehicle arrangements, schedule and practical pace. For a honeymoon, explain the privacy and transfer arrangements you expect. Neither context automatically makes one format right for every traveller.
Parrot has a family safari planning guide. The catalogue does not currently identify a honeymoon-specific package or publish a separate honeymoon guide.
